Preparation of the film “And we lived here together”

One of the interesting experiences we were able to witness was the filming of the feature documentary A we lived here together for the new permanent exhibition, which was based on the motifs of Moše Hoch’s book: A útechu nenájdeš. Mr. Moše Hoch was our fellow citizen who, together with other Jewish residents of our town, was deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp on June 13, 1944. Although he returned, he did not stay in Levice. Acceptance and reintegration among former fellow citizens was difficult. Unpleasant glances and sarcastic remarks: “More of you have returned than left”, forced him and his wife Levice to leave and go to the promised land, to Israel. His story is also a strong motivation for us so that similar events never happen again. The film serves as educational material.
