Every year in the most beautiful month of the year, May, we participate in the nationwide event Night of Literature. In interesting places in the city, in cafes, in the castle, on the square, etc. a series of readings of excerpts from new books by contemporary European authors is underway. This year, we welcomed literature lovers in the newly renovated premises of the Tolerance Center/former Jewish school, who came on May 15, 2024 to listen to an excerpt from László Krasznahorkaia’s book: Melancholy of defiance, BRAK 2020, translated by Gabriela Magová. Our colleague Slavka Prevendarčíková and Mrs. Vlasta Mesárošová read from 18:00 to 21:00. There were more visitors than elsewhere. In addition to the interesting Hungarian author, they were undoubtedly also attracted by the new beautiful premises.
