\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\tOn September 9, 2022, 81 years have passed since the government of the wartime Slovak state issued a regulation on the legal status of Jews – the so-called Jewish Code. That is why this date became the Memorial Day of the Victims of the Holocaust and Racial Violence. A commemorative event was held in Levick\u00e1 Synagogue under the name „Unforgotten Neighbors“.<\/p>
The goal of the event is to commemorate the persecution and forced deportation of our Jewish fellow citizens and also to commemorate those who helped the persecuted.<\/p>
The program of the event also included the reading of 70 names of left-wing Jewish citizens who were transported from Slovakia – mostly to concentration camps – and were murdered there or the trace of them was definitively lost.<\/p>
